Elizabeth’s latest solo project for LibriVox is Christina Rossetti’s Goblin Market and Other Poems, which you can download for free here. This 1862 volume was Rossetti’s first collection of poetry. The title poem is her most famous work: a creepy and sensual tale of two sisters’ temptation to eat forbidden fruits. The poems explore themes of death, faith, isolation, and love, with a section of devotional pieces at the end. Perfect listening for the depths of winter!

The image is an illustration by Dante Gabriel Rossetti (Christina’s brother and a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood) for the first edition, showing the sisters Laura and Lizzie in “Goblin Market.”
